⚙️ Key Features

• 7.831 kg
• Six applications
• Supersedes 3588683
• Inlet and Exhaust System group

🔌 Function

Lifts the exhaust above the waterline and mixes the cooling water into the gas stream so water cannot run back into the engine.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Water in a cylinder or a hydraulic lock when cranking
• Rusty water dripping from the exhaust joints
• Loss of power with a blocked, sooted or scaled gas passage
• Riser corroded through between the gas and water passages
• Flange face pitted and the gasket blowing repeatedly

🛠️ Service Notes

• It supersedes 3588683, so this is the current number
• Risers are a wear item on raw water cooled installations - inspect the internal passages rather than only the outside, and renew the flange gaskets and stud nuts when fitting
• If water has reached a cylinder, deal with that before running the engine again
