3804115 Turbocharger Core | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Core deposit for an exchange turbocharger, listed under the Inlet and Exhaust System group at 16.733 kg. The line holds the refundable charge on the worn turbocharger returned at the end of the exchange and ships nothing itself. Under Volvo Penta's core numbering it pairs with part 3801115. Core 3804140 is listed at 16.373 kg, only 360 grams away, so the two cannot be separated by weight and must be ordered against the turbocharger number.

⚙️ Key Features

• Refundable core deposit, not a fitted part
• Pairs with part 3801115
• 16.733 kg
• Only 360 grams from core 3804140, so order by number

🔌 Function

Carries the refundable core charge on an exchange turbocharger; the turbocharger it covers uses exhaust energy to drive a compressor, raising the density of the air going into the cylinders.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• This is a deposit line and has nothing to fail in itself; the signs below are what normally condemns the turbocharger being exchanged
• Oil smoke from the exhaust that clears briefly then returns under load
• Oil found in the inlet ducting or the charge air cooler
• A whine or rattle from the turbo that changes with boost
• Boost pressure down, exhaust sooty and the engine reluctant to make revs

🛠️ Service Notes

• The deposit is refunded when the old turbocharger is returned; ordering this line on its own supplies no part
• Return the turbocharger with its wheels and housings intact and the ports blanked, since a damaged or dismantled core can reduce or void the refund
• Confirm the number against 3804140 before raising the line, as the published weights are 360 grams apart

📦 Condition

• Refundable core deposit - not a physical part
