🔧 Product Description
Core deposit for a battery. It is the refundable charge raised against the old battery when the exchange unit is bought, and it comes back once the worn battery is returned. The line itself is an accounting entry rather than a part, so nothing ships against it on its own. Under Volvo Penta's core numbering the exchange unit it belongs to takes part number 3801934, which is the number to quote for the component itself. It is the only battery core in this block, so there is nothing here to confuse it with. It belongs to the high-voltage side of a Volvo Penta electric or hybrid driveline, so removal of the old unit is work for a technician trained and authorised for high-voltage systems. A returned traction battery is also regulated as dangerous goods for carriage, so the return leg has to be arranged rather than simply labelled.
⚙️ Key Features
- Core deposit line, not a battery you can fit
- Belongs with the exchange unit, part number 3801934
- Refunded when the old battery is returned
- The only battery core in this block
- High-voltage driveline core - handling and return both need arranging
🔌 Function
As a line item it carries the refundable core charge on the exchange; the battery itself stores the energy the electric driveline runs on and delivers it to the drive system on demand.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- This is a deposit line and has nothing to fail in itself; the signs below are what normally condemns the battery being exchanged
- Running time or range well down on what the boat used to manage between charges
- Charging stopping short of full, or the state of charge jumping about while under way
- Battery or isolation fault warnings at the helm that will not clear
- The pack running warm with its cooling working hard, or a smell around the compartment
🛠️ Service Notes
- The charge is refunded when the worn battery is returned, so keep the old unit and send it back rather than scrapping it
- Ordering this number on its own supplies no part - it goes on the order beside the exchange unit, part number 3801934
- A returned traction battery is regulated as dangerous goods for carriage and cannot travel on an ordinary parts-return label - contact us before shipping the old pack so the packing and declaration can be arranged
📦 Condition
- Refundable core deposit - not a physical part
