⚙️ Key Features

• Supersedes 3878596
• 1.529 kg
• 12 applications on D series engines
• Inlet and Exhaust System group

🔌 Function

Turns the exhaust flow out of the engine into the run that carries it away, taking the gas and heat at the tightest point in the system.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Sooty black staining or streaking at the joint
• Exhaust noise or fumes in the engine space
• Flange face pitted or warped so the joint blows
• Rust scaling and wall thinning at the bend
• Studs seized or snapped at the flange

🛠️ Service Notes

• It supersedes 3878596, so both numbers point at this elbow
• Renew the flange gasket and use new nuts, since heat-cycled exhaust fasteners rarely come off and go back twice
• Check the mating flange for flatness before fitting, as a warped face will blow out the new gasket
