🔌 Function

Carries the air flow to or from the thrust fan between two fixed points on the inlet and exhaust side of the engine.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Change in air flow or engine note under load
  • Soot or air tracking from a joint
  • Corrosion or a pinhole in the pipe wall
  • Flange face distorted so the gasket will not seal
  • Clamps slack or corroded

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew flange gaskets and clamps with the pipe
  • Check the pipe seats without strain, since forcing it cracks the next joint along
