🔌 Function

Springs the clutch pack apart when pressure is released, so the discs separate cleanly and the drive lets go.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Clutch dragging so the boat creeps in neutral
• Slow or reluctant release when coming out of gear
• Disc flattened, cracked or having lost its set
• Heat colouring on the disc
• Noise or drag from the pack with no gear selected

• A flattened spring disc will keep the pack part-engaged and cook the friction discs, so renew it whenever the pack is opened
