  • Weep or damp film at the threaded joint
  • Thread damaged, stretched or cross-started
  • Sealing face nicked or scored
  • Gauge reading erratically because of a restricted or leaking connection
  • Corrosion seizing it into its port

  • Seal the thread as the original was sealed and avoid getting sealant into the bore, where it will block the gauge line
  • Hold the nipple with a spanner while tightening the fitting into it so the joint below is not disturbed
