🔌 Function

Forms the intermediate body between two cooling system components, carrying coolant across the joint and locating the parts to each other.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Coolant weeping from the joint faces or from a corroded flange
• Overheating or coolant loss with no external hose leak
• Pitting or erosion inside the coolant passage
• Gasket faces distorted so the joint will not stay tight
• Cracking around the fixing bosses

🛠️ Service Notes

• An engine still listed against 864316 takes this housing instead
• Renew every gasket and O-ring at both faces and check the mating parts for flatness before assembling
• Pressure-test the circuit after fitting rather than relying on a running check
