  • Supersedes 866106, listed earlier as an alternator bracket

🔌 Function

Carries the alternator on the engine, setting its pulley plane and giving the fixed point against which the belt is tensioned.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Belt squeal that returns soon after retensioning
  • Cracks radiating from the bolt holes or the pivot boss
  • Bolt holes worn oval so the alternator will not stay aligned
  • One-sided wear on the belt edge
  • Mounting bolts working loose repeatedly

🛠️ Service Notes

  • This is the complete bracket rather than a single plate, so check what the engine already has fitted before ordering
  • Bracket 3825850 in this band weighs 1.128 kg and covers a different set of engines - confirm the engine designation
  • Renew the drive belt and check the tensioner while the alternator is off
