• Cooling System group
• Supersedes 864240, previously listed as a cover
• 8 applications on TAMD engines

🔌 Function

Seals the cooling system and holds it at its designed pressure, relieving above that pressure to protect the circuit.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Coolant loss or overflow with no visible external leak
• Boiling or overheating that clears when the cap is renewed
• Seal ring hardened, split or deformed
• Corrosion or scale on the seat and sealing faces
• Cap difficult to fit or release, or not holding when tested

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the filler neck seat as well as the cap - a corroded or distorted seat will stop even a new cap sealing
• Never release a pressure cap on a hot engine
• The number it replaces was listed only as a cover, so confirm this is the pressure-holding cap your engine needs
