3830482 Gear | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta gear for use with 3830699, from the Engine group, weighing 0.066 kg and listed for a single TAMD series application. It consolidates two earlier numbers, 3826296 and 3826689, which were catalogued as a shaft and a seawater pump respectively — so the old numbers describe quite different items from this gear.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

• Volvo Penta TAMD74A

• Engine Family: TAMD

⚙️ Key Features

• For use with 3830699
• Consolidates 3826296, previously listed as a shaft, and 3826689, previously listed as a seawater pump
• 0.066 kg
• Single TAMD series application

🔌 Function

Transmits drive by direct tooth engagement to the component it meshes with, turning it at a fixed ratio to the shaft it sits on.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Whine, growl or rattle from the gear train that varies with engine speed
• Teeth chipped, pitted or worn to a hooked profile
• Backlash noticeably greater than it should be
• Bright metal particles in the oil or on the filter
• Driven component turning erratically or not at all

🛠️ Service Notes

• It is listed for use with 3830699, so check that part at the same time — a worn mating gear or shaft will chew a new gear
• Because the superseded numbers were catalogued as a shaft and a seawater pump, confirm exactly what a supplier is shipping if they cross-reference the old numbers
• Inspect the gear it meshes with and the bearings supporting both before reassembly
