🔌 Function

Passes oil through a cooled core so heat is carried away into the coolant or raw water circuit.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Oil temperature running higher than normal under load
• Oil in the coolant, or coolant in the oil, when the core has failed internally
• External weeping or crusted deposits at the end covers
• Core blocked or furred, with poor flow through it
• Corrosion or pinholes in the tube stack on strip-down

🛠️ Service Notes

• Renew the end cover seals and gaskets at the same time, as they are single-use
• Flush the oil circuit thoroughly if the old core was passing, and fit the correct anode or sacrificial parts where the installation uses them
• At 7.652 kg the cooler needs supporting as the last fasteners are removed
