🔌 Function

Uses exhaust gas energy to drive a compressor that forces extra air into the cylinders, raising power output.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Whining or siren note that rises with boost
• Blue smoke and rising oil consumption
• Oil in the charge air pipework or intercooler
• Shaft play felt at the compressor wheel, or blades rubbing the housing
• Loss of power with black smoke under acceleration

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the serial number of your engine against the 347269 breakpoint before ordering, as earlier engines take a different turbocharger
• Renew the oil feed and drain lines and prime the bearing with clean oil before first start
• Find out why the old unit failed, since a blocked drain or dirty oil will destroy the replacement
