Draws a joint tight, holding a hose or duct on its spigot so the connection stays sealed under pressure and vibration.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Joint blowing or hissing under load with the clamp still apparently tight
  • Clamp band corroded, cracked or stretched
  • Screw or trunnion seized so it cannot be tightened further
  • Hose or duct end distorted where the clamp has cut in
  • Clamp found loose after a few heat cycles

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew clamps rather than reusing them on a charge air or exhaust joint — a stretched band will not hold boost
  • Re-check the tightness after the first heat cycle, as joints settle once they have been up to temperature
