🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta control from the Engine Controls group, weighing 1.055 kg. It supersedes part number 3587371, which was catalogued earlier as a control lever, so the current part covers that older listing.

⚙️ Key Features

  • Engine Controls group
  • 1.055 kg
  • Supersedes 3587371, formerly listed as a control lever

🔌 Function

Gives the operator throttle and gear control at the helm, converting lever movement into cable travel.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Lever feeling loose, gritty or stiff in use
  • Gear or throttle not reaching its stops at the engine
  • Detent no longer holding the lever in position
  • Clicking, grating or binding through the travel
  • Worn pivots and slop at the cable attachment

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Control mechanism 3842152 sits in the same group at 1.104 kg, so the two are easily confused and should be ordered by part number
  • Check the cables and their end fittings before condemning the control, since stiff cables feel identical at the helm
  • Set both throttle and gear travel and confirm neutral before running up
