- Whistling or hissing from the inlet joints under boost
- Charge air pressure down and black smoke under load
- Oil or soot staining at a manifold joint face
- Manifold cracked or a flange face distorted
- Studs or bolts pulled, or gaskets blowing repeatedly
🛠️ Service Notes
- Renew the manifold gaskets and check the head and manifold faces for distortion before fitting
- Tighten in the sequence and to the figures in the manual - arrangement a manifold down unevenly is what cracks flanges
