Type D is the earlier aluminium Duoprop range for Aquamatic DPS and DPS-A sterndrives with straight propeller-shaft splines. Volvo Penta has replaced the Type D propeller sets with Type I sets, but the Type D front and rear propellers are still sold individually as spare parts. This is the D2 front propeller; the matching rear propeller is 3851442 - no complete set number is listed in this dimension. Every set of Duoprop propellers is designed, tested and manufactured together, so the front and rear propellers of a dimension belong to each other.

🔌 Function

Forms the forward half of a Duoprop counter-rotating pair, taking the larger share of the thrust and handing a straightened flow back to the rear propeller.

• Blade edges chipped, curled or bent after a strike
• Loss of top speed, or the engine over-revving against the same load
• Drive slipping under acceleration as the hub loses its grip
