🔌 Function

Carries fluid from the reservoir to the pump on the suction side, where the hose has to resist collapsing under the vacuum the pump pulls.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Steering going heavy or feeling spongy
• Pump whining or drawing air
• Hose soft, kinked or collapsing when the pump pulls
• Wet oil film or weeping around the hose ends
• Outer cover cracked, chafed or perished

🛠️ Service Notes

• It is intended to be cut to suit, so measure the run and cut generously, keeping the ends square and clean of swarf
• Published weight is lower than the shorter 1.5 m hose 3851508, so weight is no guide here and the quoted length should be used
• Fill and bleed the system after fitting and check for air leaks on the suction side
