3853195 Indicator | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta indicator from the Engine group, weighing 63.5 g and listed for 17 applications. It supersedes part number 841038, which was catalogued both as a setting indicator and as a timing gear casing - and since timing gear casing 3853135 is a separate number in this listing, ordering this one brings the indicator, not the casing.

⚙️ Key Features

• 17 applications
• Supersedes 841038
• The superseded number was also listed as a timing gear casing - this supplies the indicator
• Timing gear casing 3853135 is a separate number

🔌 Function

Provides the reference mark used to set timing, giving a fixed pointer against the moving marks.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Timing marks impossible to line up or read
• Indicator bent, damaged or missing
• Fixings loose so the pointer has shifted
• Timing set correctly by mark but the engine not running to specification

🛠️ Service Notes

• If you need the casing rather than the pointer, order 3853135 - the superseded number covered both descriptions
• Check the indicator is seated on its dowel or location before trusting a timing reading
