⚙️ Key Features

• 1.56 kg
• Engine group
• 29 applications
• Full valve cover at over 1.5 kg

🔌 Function

Closes the top of the cylinder head over the valve gear, keeping oil in and providing the crankcase breather connection.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Oil weeping down the side of the head from the cover joint
• Oil smell or smoke off a hot exhaust where oil has dripped
• Cover flange distorted or bowed between the fixings
• Cracked around a fixing hole or at the breather spigot
• Breather connection blocked or the spigot broken

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the flange for flatness before fitting; over-tightened fixings bow the flange and the new gasket then weeps
• Hose 3853546 runs to the valve cover - check it for collapse while the cover is off, because crankcase pressure pushes oil out at this joint

📦 Condition

• Genuine Volvo Penta part
• Brand new
• Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
