⚙️ Key Features

• 0.006 inch thick
• 131 listed applications across the V, FWD and DP families
• Published weight out of step with the series
• Order by thickness

🔌 Function

Sets the running clearance or gear position of an assembly by adding a precise thickness at a shimming face.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Gear whine that appeared after a rebuild
• Bearing preload measuring too tight or too slack
• Tooth contact pattern sitting off centre
• Shim found creased or dished on strip-down

🛠️ Service Notes

• The series runs from 0.002 inch to 0.016 inch, and the published weights do not follow thickness at all - 3855008 at 0.002 inch is listed lighter than this one but 3855012 at 0.016 inch is lighter again
• Measure the shim pack and set the clearance to specification rather than copying the old pack
