• Rubber ring between the hub and the outer inertia ring perished, cracked or squeezed out
• Outer ring visibly out of line with the hub or slipped round
• Vibration at particular engine speeds that was not there before
• Timing marks appearing to wander because the outer ring has moved
• Belt running off the pulley or wearing on one flank

🛠️ Service Notes

• Never weld, hammer or reuse a damper whose rubber has failed - the outer ring can come off in service
• Check the crankshaft nose and keyway for wear when fitting, and torque the retaining bolt to the specified figure
