🔌 Function

Seals against a seat or drops into a detent, closing a passage or holding a selected position until it is pushed clear.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Pressure that bleeds away instead of holding
• A control that no longer clicks into position
• Ball found flattened, pitted or scored
• Its seat worn, bruised or ringed
• The ball missing altogether from a stripped assembly

🛠️ Service Notes

• A ball is easy to lose during dismantling, so account for it before the assembly is moved
• Check the seat as well as the ball, since a bruised seat will leak with a new ball fitted
