🔌 Function

Meters crankcase gases back into the inlet at a controlled rate, keeping the crankcase slightly below atmospheric pressure so oil vapour and blow-by are burnt rather than pushed out past the seals.

• Rough or hunting idle when the valve sticks open
• Valve rattles when shaken if free, silent and gummed if stuck

• A blocked ventilation valve pressurises the crankcase and blows out otherwise sound seals, so check this valve before condemning a leaking seal
• Clear or renew the hose and any restrictor with the valve, as the deposits that block the valve block the pipework too
