Type F is the stainless steel Duoprop range for Aquamatic DPS and DPS-A sterndrives with straight propeller-shaft splines, and is the upgrade Volvo Penta offers for enhanced performance, strength and durability. Greater strength allows thinner blades, which give better acceleration and a higher top speed than a comparable aluminium propeller, while the high strength stainless steel adds excellent durability and corrosion resistance. A shock-absorbing rubber bushing and galvanic isolation make it a matched fit for the DPS drive. This number supplies the complete F3 pair, front propeller 3857559 and rear propeller 3857560. Every set of Duoprop propellers is designed, tested and manufactured together, so the front and rear propellers of a dimension belong to each other.

🔌 Function

Supplies both halves of the counter-rotating Duoprop pair in one dimension, so front and rear are matched to each other and the thrust is split the way the drive was designed for.

• The installation hardware for the Type D, I, IH, F and FH propellers is front propeller nut 3851569 and rear propeller nut 21631162
• Check the spline form before ordering - Type F is for the straight-spline DPS and DPS-A drives, and a helical-spline drive needs the Type FH propeller of the same size
• Volvo Penta specifies type F or FH stainless steel propellers for 6-cylinder diesel engines, engines exceeding 240 hp, and boats capable of speeds above 38 knots (45 mph).
• Type FH is the matching range for DPS-B drives, which have helical (spiral) splines. A Type F propeller will not fit a DPS-B drive.
