🔌 Function

Carries the engine's weight and thrust into the hull while isolating vibration, holding the engine in its aligned position under all conditions of load.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• More vibration through the hull than usual, or a new note at certain revs
• Rubber cracked, perished, oil-soaked or squashed down
• Engine sitting low or out of alignment
• Movement or knock when going into gear
• Studs or fixings corroded, loose or seized

🛠️ Service Notes

• Renew mountings as a set and re-check shaft or drive alignment afterwards - a single new mounting will sit higher than three settled ones
• Note the shim arrangement and mounting heights before dismantling so alignment can be recovered
• Support the engine safely before releasing any mounting
