🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta valve cover from the Engine group, weighing 2.088 kg. No engine applications are published against the number, so identify it by the cylinder head and rocker arrangement it sits on.

⚙️ Key Features

  • 2.088 kg
  • Engine group
  • Substantial cast or pressed cover rather than a light pressing

🔌 Function

Seals the top of the cylinder head, keeping oil in around the valve gear and dirt out, and usually carries the crankcase breather take-off.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Oil weeping or running down the side of the head
  • Oily film and grit collected along the cover joint
  • Sealing flange distorted or the cover face pulled around the fixings
  • Breather connection cracked, blocked or oil-logged
  • Cover fixings found loose or over-tightened

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Fit a new cover gasket and check the flange for flatness before torquing the fixings down
  • Valve cover 3859080 is the 2.449 kg cover listed for DPX applications - compare the two before ordering
  • Clear the crankcase ventilation route while the cover is off, since a blocked breather pressurises the case and pushes oil past the joint

📦 Condition

  • Genuine Volvo Penta part
  • Brand new
  • Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
