🔌 Function

Transfers the camshaft lobe's lift from the lifter up to the rocker arm.

  • Tapping or clatter from the valve gear
  • Valve clearances drifting out of specification
  • Push rod bent, visible as run-out when rolled on a flat surface
  • Ball ends worn, pitted or galled
  • Rod ends dry, showing the oil feed is not getting through

  • Renew the rod's lifter and check the rocker arm socket if the ends are worn
  • Reset the valve clearances after fitting as the workshop manual directs
