🔌 Function

Meters crankcase gases back into the inlet at a controlled rate so the crankcase stays under slight vacuum instead of pressurising.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Oil pushed out past seals, dipstick or filler cap
• Rough or hunting idle, sometimes with a whistle from the valve
• Oil mist or sludge collecting in the inlet tract
• Valve rattling when shaken, or silent because it is gummed solid
• Emulsion and sludge under the filler cap from poor breathing

• Clear the breather hoses and inlet fitting at the same time — a blocked hose defeats a new valve
• Look for the reason the crankcase was pressurising rather than just fitting a new valve
