🔌 Function

Turns the exhaust away from the manifold and mixes cooling water into the gas stream so the hose downstream can take it.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Water in a cylinder, or the engine hydraulicking on start-up
• Rusty water dripping from the elbow or the hose joint
• Sooty black streaking at the flange or hose
• Exhaust note gone harsh, or exhaust fumes in the engine space
• Heavy scale and rust flaking from the water passages when the elbow is opened

🛠️ Service Notes

• Confirm the outlet size before ordering, as a 3.00 inch (76 mm) elbow will not suit an installation built for another size
• Exhaust leaks inside a boat carry a carbon monoxide risk, so renew rather than patch a corroded elbow
• Fit new gaskets and fasteners, and check the riser and hose for the same internal corrosion
