🔌 Function
Carries the cooling fan on its bearings and drives it from the belt, setting the fan's position relative to the radiator.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Rumble, growl or whine from the front of the engine
- Fan visibly wobbling or running out of true
- Belt squealing or throwing off dust from a misaligned pulley
- Play felt at the fan when it is rocked by hand
- Bearing grease found dried out or leaked away
🛠️ Service Notes
- The 150 mm length sets the fan position in the shroud — check the length against the old hub, as a different hub will pull the fan out of the shroud
- Renew the belt and check the tensioner and other pulleys while the front of the engine is open
