⚙️ Key Features

• Includes wastegate
• 38.26 kg
• Supersedes 3818410
• 5 applications across the D series

🔌 Function

Drives a compressor off the exhaust stream to force additional air into the engine, with an integral wastegate limiting maximum boost.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Power down and black smoke under load
• Whistle, siren or rattle from the turbo rising with revs
• Oil in the inlet or exhaust and rising oil consumption
• Overboost or underboost faults logged as the wastegate fails to control
• Shaft play or the compressor wheel rubbing its housing

🛠️ Service Notes

• The wastegate is supplied with this unit, so check whether the actuator 3886374 also needs renewing rather than assuming it is included
• Renew the oil feed and return lines, change the oil and filter, and prime the turbo before loading the engine
• Find the cause of the original failure, as oil starvation, a blocked breather or debris ingestion will destroy the new unit too
