  • Coolant weeping or dripping at the hose ends
  • Rubber gone soft and spongy, or swollen out of shape
  • Cracks and crazing showing when the hose is flexed
  • Hose collapsing under suction as the engine warms
  • Coloured crust or staining around the clamps

  • Renew the clamps at the same time and check the stub pipes for corrosion or scoring
  • Pressure test the system after fitting and re-check the clamps once the engine has been up to temperature
