🔌 Function

Connects the piston to the small end of the connecting rod and carries the combustion load into the rod.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Light knock at idle, sharpest when the engine is cold
• Pin or small end bush scuffed, scored or blued
• Pin a loose fit in the piston bores on strip-down
• Circlip groove damaged or a circlip found displaced
• Piston skirt scuffed on one side

🛠️ Service Notes

• This is the standard size, so check whether your engine has been built to standard before ordering
• Renew the small end bush and circlips with the pin and check the fit in both piston bores
• Assemble to the piston maker's method, as a pin fitted without the correct heating or press method damages the piston
