🔌 Function


The stator generates ignition charge voltage and high-output charging current under the flywheel. It supplies power to the ignition switch boxes / packs and charging current to the regulator / rectifier system.


Common signs of failure:


• Weak or missing spark

• Spark loss above idle or at higher RPM

• Battery not charging

• Tachometer erratic or dropping out

• Voltage regulator overheating from stator faults

• Burnt stator windings or melted insulation

• Engine loses spark when hot

• Low high-speed or low-speed stator output during DVA testing
