Clamps the propeller onto its shaft taper and holds it against thrust and torque in both directions.

• Vibration under power that was not there before
• Nut found slack, or the locking arrangement disturbed
• Thread damaged, pulled or corroded
• Fretting marks where the propeller has moved on the taper
• Propeller loose on the shaft when checked by hand

• Torque to specification on a clean dry taper and fit the locking arrangement properly — a propeller working loose at sea is dangerous
• 40005157 is the heavier nut on the same fitment list, so confirm which your drive takes
• Renew any tab washer or locking device at the same time
