The panels are made of recycled polyurethane foam at a density of 100 kg per cubic metre, faced with an oil-resistant aluminium foil, and treated with a fire-resistant formula that withstands up to 200 degrees C; they are approved for boats CE marked to EU Directive 2013/53/EU. It supersedes part number 61050243, which was catalogued earlier as insulation. Its published weight of 0.310 kg is a fifth of the 1.700 kg quoted for the same-size non-adhesive 30 mm panel 41103801 and well below what the quoted density gives, so order by thickness and backing rather than weight.

🔌 Function

• Panel peeling away at a corner or edge
• Engine noise noticeably louder in the accommodation
• Facing torn, oil-soaked or crumbling
• Foam compressed flat and no longer springy
• Adhesive gone hard and no longer holding

🛠️ Service Notes

• Order by thickness and adhesive type, since the published weight cannot be trusted to identify this panel
• The surface must be clean, dry and grease-free or the adhesive will let go within a season
• Cut with a sharp knife, keep joins tight and tape them with foil tape, and keep panels clear of hot exhaust surfaces and turbochargers
• Fit the sheets so the joins are as tight as possible and cover them with foil tape, otherwise noise leaks through and water can be absorbed by the material
• Sound insulation hangers can be used for convenient mounting
• Choose the panel thickness against the engine's own noise characteristics across the 100-8000 Hz range; sound absorption is rated to DIN 52215
