41103806 Foil | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta aluminium foil tape, supplied as a roll 5 m long with a self-adhesive rear side, weighing 0.068 kg. It is the tape the accessories catalogue calls for when fitting sound absorbent panels: the joins between sheets have to be as tight as possible and then covered with foil tape, otherwise noise leaks through and water gets into the foam. A longer 50 m roll of the same tape is listed alongside it. It supersedes part number 61004051, which was catalogued earlier as a film.

🔌 Function

Seals and finishes the joints and cut edges of sound insulation panels so noise cannot leak through and the foam stays dry and oil-tight.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Tape lifting at the panel joints and edges
• Foil torn, creased or discoloured
• Oil or fuel soaking into an unsealed panel edge
• Adhesive dried out and no longer sticking

🛠️ Service Notes

• 5 m per roll, so measure your joints and cut edges and order enough in one go - the 50 m roll is the alternative for a whole engine space
• Apply only to a clean, dry, grease-free surface and press the whole width down firmly
• Seal every cut edge when a panel is trimmed, or the exposed foam will soak up oil and water
