🔌 Function

Carries high pressure fuel from the injection pump element to the injector of its own cylinder.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Diesel weeping or misting at a union nut
• Rough running or a misfire traced to one cylinder
• Chafed pipe where it rubs a neighbour or a bracket
• Cracked cone or a union nut that will not seal at torque
• Fuel smell in the engine space after running

🛠️ Service Notes

• This is the heaviest of the three by only 7 grams, so identify by cylinder position rather than weight — 421492 is cylinder 4 and 421493 is cylinder 5
• Renew any pipe whose cone has been coned over by overtightening rather than trying to reseal it
• Bleed the high pressure side and check for leaks at working pressure before closing up
