It supersedes part numbers 423016, 423017, 422016, 422285, 422017, 467625 and 422600, several of which were catalogued earlier as inlet and outlet valves.

🔌 Function

Wedges into the groove in the valve stem and locks the spring washer down, holding the spring compressed on the valve.

  • Valve dropped into a cylinder after a cotter let go
  • Cotter grooves worn, stepped or spread
  • Valve stem groove marked or worn wide
  • Valve gear noise and uneven spring heights
  • Cotters loose in the washer taper on strip-down
