🔌 Function
The impeller rotates inside the lower-unit or stern drive water pump housing to draw cooling water through the drive and push it into the engine cooling system. Correct impeller condition is essential for maintaining water pressure, preventing overheating and protecting internal engine components from heat damage.
Common signs of failure:
• Weak or inconsistent tell-tale water stream
• Engine overheating alarm
• Reduced cooling-water pressure
• Overheating at idle or low speed
• Cracked, hardened, worn or missing impeller vanes
• Rubber fragments found in the cooling system
• Pump not priming correctly after storage or service
📦 Condition
• Genuine Quicksilver part
• Brand new
• Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
