🔌 Function

Insulates a starter terminal or connection from adjacent metal so starting current cannot short to earth.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Slow or dead cranking with heat at the starter terminal
  • Plate cracked, charred or deformed by heat
  • Burn or arc marks on the surrounding metal
  • Terminal working loose because the plate has crushed

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Isolate the batteries first, as starter terminals stay live at full battery current
  • Identify by the superseded number 470210 rather than by weight
