🔌 Function

Atomises fuel into the combustion chamber at high pressure and at the moment the timing demands, spraying it in the pattern the chamber is designed for.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Rough idle, misfire or a distinct knock from one cylinder
• Black or white smoke and poor starting
• Fuel dilution of the oil or a smell of diesel in the crankcase
• Nozzle holes coked, eroded or dribbling instead of atomising
• Combustion leak at the injector seat, showing as sooting around the injector

🛠️ Service Notes

• Confirm the TD730VE application, since injectors of the same size are calibrated differently between variants
• Renew the injector sealing washer and the return seals, and fit to the specified torque so the seat seals and the injector is not distorted
• Injectors work at pressures high enough to inject through skin, so never test a loose injector by hand
