🔧 Product Description
Genuine Volvo Penta flexplate from the Fuel System group, weighing 0.043 kg and listed for 63 applications across the TD, TAMD, TWD, TID, TMD and THD series. It supersedes part number 417512, catalogued earlier as a disc. It is named as a flexplate but sits in the Fuel System group, so it is the flexible drive plate in the injection pump drive rather than an engine flywheel plate.
🚤 Compatibility
- Engine Family: TD, TAMD, TWD, TID, TMD, THD, TAD
Full model list at the end of this description.
⚙️ Key Features
- 0.043 kg
- 63 applications across six engine series
- Supersedes 417512, formerly listed as a disc
- Listed under Fuel System, so it belongs to the injection pump drive
- Washer 479460, 12 x 24 x 2 mm, shares the same engine family list
- Quantity varies by assembly, most commonly six
🔌 Function
Transmits drive to the injection pump while flexing to absorb slight misalignment between the two shafts.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Knock or clonk from the pump drive on load change
- Injection timing drifting from its setting
- Plate found cracked, usually radiating from a fixing hole
- Drive holes found elongated with bright fretting
- Retaining fasteners repeatedly found loose
🛠️ Service Notes
- Despite the flexplate name this is listed under Fuel System, so check the parts group before ordering if you are looking for an engine flywheel plate
- Washer 479460 at 12 x 24 x 2 mm covers the same engine family list and is normally fitted with it
- Recheck and reset injection timing after fitting, and renew rather than straighten a cracked or distorted plate
