⚙️ Key Features

• 1.052 kg, the heaviest shield in this range
• 13 applications across the TAD, TWD and TD series
• Engine group noise enclosure panel
• Cover 479652 covers the same 13 applications

🔌 Function

Encloses a noise source on the engine so airborne sound is reflected and absorbed rather than radiated into the compartment.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Engine noticeably louder in the compartment than before
• Buzz or rattle from a loose or cracked panel
• Cracks radiating from the fixing holes
• Absorbent facing torn, oil-soaked or shedding
• Panel chafing against a pipe, hose or loom

🛠️ Service Notes

• Noise shields 477959 at 0.595 kg and 477998 at 0.528 kg are the smaller shields in this range, so check the part number against the panel you are replacing
• Fit every isolator and fixing as designed, since a shield bolted solid transmits noise instead of stopping it, and do not refit an oil-soaked absorbent panel near a hot surface
