A nine-tooth 12-volt starter for early Mercury and Mariner carburetted two-stroke outboards. The primary applications are early 40HP two-cylinder engines and 50HP four-cylinder Model 500 engines. This is an outboard starter, not a MerCruiser sterndrive starter.

The current Mercury service succession can be supplied under 50-898265006. Confirm the nine-tooth pinion, mounting-ear spacing and electrical-terminal orientation against the removed starter before fitting.
