An ignition-protected marine starter used on selected MerCruiser, OMC Cobra and Volvo Penta GM-based 3.0L installations. The original 50-806965A4 starter has been replaced in Mercury service by kit 8M0090697, which uses a later 11-tooth starter and the associated installation hardware.

This straight-across bottom-mount arrangement is commonly paired with the smaller 12.75-inch flywheel. It must not be confused with staggered-bolt 14-inch flywheel starters.
