🔧 Product Description
Genuine BRP Evinrude Exhaust Back-Pressure Sensor Nipple - Part Number: 5001298
A genuine BRP exhaust-pressure fitting used on selected Evinrude direct-injection and E-TEC outboards.
This is not a general-purpose hose fitting. The nipple threads into the exhaust adapter, cylinder block or crankcase assembly and connects to the exhaust back-pressure sensing hose. The EMM uses the pressure signal as part of its engine-load and combustion-control strategy.
⚙️ Key Features
• Genuine BRP exhaust back-pressure nipple
• Correct OEM reference 5001298
• Designed for direct-injection and E-TEC engines
• Connects the exhaust-pressure passage to the sensor hose
• Precision orifice must remain clean and unrestricted

Typically suits:
• Engine models:
• Evinrude E-TEC 115HP - selected 2007-2012 engines
• Evinrude E-TEC 130HP - selected 2009-2012 engines
• Evinrude E-TEC 150HP - selected 2007-2012 engines
• Evinrude E-TEC 175HP - selected 2007-2012 engines
• Evinrude 200HP direct-injection and E-TEC applications
• Selected 2.6L 60-degree V6 models
• Engines whose cylinder-and-crankcase diagram specifies 5001298
• HP Range: Primarily 115HP - 200HP
• Engine Type: V4 or 60-degree V6 direct-injection two-stroke outboard
• Year Range: Approximately 2000-2012, dependent on engine family
🔌 Function
The nipple transfers exhaust pressure through a calibrated passage and hose to the engine-management system. The resulting pressure signal helps the EMM determine operating load and adjust engine control.
Common signs of failure:
• Exhaust-pressure diagnostic fault
• Engine hesitates or runs poorly under load
• Carbon blocks the nipple orifice
• Pressure hose repeatedly comes loose
• Corrosion damages the threaded fitting
• Engine-control readings become erratic
• Nipple breaks during removal
• Exhaust residue accumulates inside the sensing hose
📦 Condition
• Genuine BRP part
• Brand new
• Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
