664822 Split Pin | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta split pin weighing 0.002 kg and listed for 130 applications across TAMD, AD, D, TMD, MS and V series engines. It consolidates two earlier numbers, 678146 and 846655, which were catalogued as a piston and a lock spring respectively, so the old descriptions bear no resemblance to the split pin supplied now.

🚤 Compatibility

• Engine Family: TAMD, AD, D, TMD, MS, V, HS, MD, KAD, KAMD
• HP Range: 13-480 HP

⚙️ Key Features

• 0.002 kg
• Supersedes 678146, previously catalogued as a piston
• Supersedes 846655, previously catalogued as a lock spring
• 130 applications across six engine series
• Quantity varies by assembly, most commonly one

🔌 Function

Passes through a drilled fastener or pin and is bent over to lock it mechanically in place.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Pin missing, leaving the fastener free to work loose
• Legs broken off where they were bent over
• Pin corroded and crumbling
• Nut or pin found backed off in service
• Play or knock at a joint that should be positively locked

🛠️ Service Notes

• Split pins are single-use, so fit a new one whenever the joint is disturbed and never straighten and reuse the old pin
• Because the two old numbers were catalogued as a piston and a lock spring, confirm you are ordering a split pin and not the item those records describe
• Bend both legs fully so nothing can catch on them
