• Engine Type: Yamaha HPDI direct-injection two-stroke outboard
• Year Range: approximately 2000-2008 depending on model and market
• System Type: Pulser coil / crank timing signal coil
🔌 Function
The pulser coil detects flywheel position and sends timing pulses to the ignition / ECU system. These signals allow the engine control system to calculate spark timing and synchronise firing events.
Common signs of failure:
• No spark or intermittent spark
• Hard starting or no-start condition
• Engine starts then cuts out
• Misfire or erratic timing
• HPDI ECU timing signal fault
• Engine loses spark when hot
• Damaged coil wiring, cracked insulation or corroded connector
• Pulser coil resistance or peak voltage outside specification
📦 Condition
• Genuine used part
• Removed from running engine where applicable
• In good working condition unless otherwise stated
